Russia , Ukraine is all "rumbo kas" institutes???and then they decided AIMST ? What makes them think that AIMST is so cheap to study in ? The MBBS programme costs a whopping RM250,000 (and rising)...What about other programmes ? Don't forget the plight of the Biotechnology, Applied Sciences, Dentistry & Pharmacy Students ??? Nothing great doing medicine ...

Stupid AIMST Cafeteria
A decent breakfast will ensure the good mood of the rest of the day. Therefore, what if the breakfast is being ruined by those who are so stupid where by they simply increase the charges of the drink unnecessarily. This is so damn stupid and the cashier i don think he even have his secondary finished. The fark up situation begins when I was ordering my favourite Nescafe and the previous charges was RM 1.00 but today there is an increase of RM 0.20. Wat the hell, they try to play government in the Medical School It seems, simply hike the damn price to almost 20%. Of coursse I don wanna argue and I purposely give him RM 1.00 which is suppose and I normally pay. He was asking for another RM 0.20 but I said I don have. I only have RM 10.00 and if that you want you have to give me back Rm 9.80. He was making noise and luckily my Finance Lecturer was behind me and he gave me a look and the cashier freaks, perhaps He almost shit in his pants who knows. There goes a day for me…. Later got 3.30pm class, Polymer and I was wondering how many of us will be fishing this time.

AIMST is run and planned like a dog's breakfast. Those who run it are professionals, but even they cannot turn sows' ears into velvet purses. It is seen as an opportunity to acquire Mercedes Benzes and other baubles of Bolehland's high and mighty to be. One is not then surprised it runs foul of what it must provide. Even needed staffs are not employed. It is to save money, one AIMST official justified. AIMST, he said, is a private university, and all this cost money. So, even before it opened its doors, it cut corners. What matters, above all, is for the undergraduates to fork out the high tuition fees. If they get an education, that is their good luck. No one in the MIC is allowed to discuss these concerns. One who did was suspended.

The MIC underwrites AIMST, but has no direct link with it. Dato' Seri Samy Vellu collects funds to kick start it and keep it afloat. He promised he would not touch the MIC and the Indian community for funds. This means he would; and does. Every MIC branch must contribute RM11,000 and he expects every Indian RM1,000. Also, a small share of the take from the recent concert of South Indian film stars goes to the fund. The real owners of AIMST, however, are two Samy Vellu cronies and a Malay. While Samy Vellu asks the Indian-Malaysian community for contributions, he does not ask the Malay community to do the same -- even though a Malay owns 40 percent of the equity.

There are many who left AIMST after failing to reach their goals.. but they moved on, never to give up, and have achieved success elsewhere. But they were always remembered. Some left as their time in AIMST was up… they also learned to move on, but were never forgotten… Some still stand in AIMST,
as living proof that this great batch of students are yet to be honoured in their achievements… and also to
provoke madness in Ms.Sandra and Mr.Dharma…

i hated the lifeless town wit the fcuked up rules of the university and the crappy deep sh|tholes i’ve been thru… but wateva it was, i can firmly say that it was the people, not the place, which will make me miss it the most….

The weird thing with this Indian cafeteria in AIMST university is that they have a section for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. They put both sets of dishes side by side and a staff will be stationed there to serve us the dishes scold us when we take too many pieces of chicken. Not like I want to take more than one anyway, *pukes*. If we take a piece of something from the vegetarian dishes, we won’t be allowed to take something else from the non-vegetarian side. How sad is that? Imagine the sadness I felt when I took some weird lump of protein(or something that pretended to be protein, at least) and wanted to take the curry chicken as well but was stopped by the staff. SUCKZZZZ !!

Samy Vellu claims AIMST is being built to help poor Indian students denied places in public universities.
A few months ago when it was announced that only 1,750 Indians secured places in public universities for the current academic year, the MIC president said something else.
He asserted that most Indian students could only afford to pay about RM5,000 in fees and they will face serious difficulties if they are denied places in public universities.
When these poor students cannot even afford to pay RM5,000 in fees, would it possible for them to seek admission into AIMST which proposes to charge between RM30,000 and RM230,000 for its various courses? So, who is going to benefit from AIMST?

Anonymous said...

In Semeling in Kedah (in the Merbok constituency), the MIC has built the most modern medical campus not only in Malaysia but maybe in the whole of Asia, Europe and the US. Please Google ‘AIMST’. One minute you are driving through oil palm plantations then suddenly you turn a corner and almost run into a group of huge UFO spaceship type buildings rising out of the oil palms - this is the Asian Institute of Medical Science and Technology. Yet only the guards and gardeners at the AIMST are Indians from the surrounding rubber and oil palm estates in Semeling. Most of the Indian students at AIMST are from well to do Indian families from outside Kedah who can afford the almost RM300,000 fees at this private medical school. Increasingly now, more Chinese students are also enrolling at AIMST because they can afford to pay.Don't say AIMST was built to help the poor indian students obtain higher education. That's just bollocks, it's just like any other educational institution designed to provide education and make profit.....

so.. how is AIMST? share to us about the lecturer, students, system, compertative or not?, facilities, they do things professional or not?

Anonymous said...

I dont study in AIMST. I dont know much about them..but they something thing i dont really favor them. If you dont mind i voice up 2:

1) Their MBBS intake system is a closed system, that means, they give their foundation student the priority(instead or merits). That doesnt promote competitiveness and fairness and sounds like govt university

2) Some of their top MBBS profesor is no longer in their staff list. I see some lecturer from AIIMS last year but not this year. (BTW, AIIMS is the best medical school in India). There is only one lecturer did his post-graduate in AIIMS. The remaining lecturer is from DR MGR medical university/madras etc.. which is not that as good. That is a big question mark to me... because when top staff leave... there is possibility that something wrong with the management.

Anonymous said...

I have a relative there, so I'm just typing on what I've heard and know. It may not be 100% accurate.

1)The pre-med is very hard and restrictive. While its sturctured like SAM (for those wanting to get into medcine), it does not have the recognition of SAM. Other than AIMST kedah, only some Indian uni's recognise it, with Salem being (I think) one of them.

2)The drop out rate can be quite high.

3)The people there aren't the cleanest people around, which he describes as "shocking" for a medical environment.

4)Chinese food and culture in general is an endangered species there. Mostly Indians, with Indian food. (Personal note: I have nothing against any type of edible food, but at the end of the day, we still want to stick to familar dishes)

5)He feels the quality of teaching there "questionable". I also happen to know the MMA (Malaysian Medical Association) has also raised concerns about the standard of graduates and the course in general.

Thats all I can say.

as for the AIMST management, as mention in a few post above, is really having huge problem. the management staff are not EFFECTIVE and not EFFICIENT, which is a waste of resources and money in AIMST which is paid BY THE STUDENTS. some are extremly rude and impolite... some are not qualified nor educated to hold the managerial post in AIMST.

Anonymous said...

I'm a dental student at AIMST. Doing my third year now actually. I agree that the management can be terrible, even attrocious at times.

Anonymous said...

first of all i would like to say AIMST is a university worth 2 billion ringgit but still has problems with the management. the mismanagement is the one that cause all problems that i would say could be avoided if a proper system is upheld.

AIMST treats their lecturers shabbily. It will never improve because of this.

I'm a matriculation student in aimst and all i could say is that i madde a mistake by enrolling in this university. I believe that aimst's foundation is recognized by various universities worldwide especially QUT, Australia. However, a recent visit to their website shows that aimst is not listed for credit transfer and such..I am very confused..Futhermore, as far as i know, aimst foundation is not recognized by other local public & private universities...Ignore the cafeteria's fly attack(not to mention the food),freezing lecture halls, temporary out of service lifts, frequent 'visits' to the old aman jaya campus for classes and the absence of wireless LAN and you'll be fine..And yes, some lectures are part-timers especially matriculation lecturers..2 of my lecturers are leaving, can you believe that? And term1 has just ended..

Anonymous said...

they treat us like children..we paid so mush for our fees and wish to get a good degree in aimst..but sadly all that just a white elephant..further more, they promise us to have a very good condition like wifi, good accomodation, nice food. but all those just a big pale of rubbish.if got chance, i will quit aimst..no doubt..i don't want to waste my university life in aimst..i been insulted for being aimst student.they should show their best reputation due to they unregconized condition..don't let the student feel disappointed..hope they will think rationally..aimst got future if they tresure it.do something right for aimst..please..i heard to much con about aimst..sigh..don't spoil aimst anymore..

I also heard many cracks in the AIMST finance and adminstration? I understand that turnover of staff is also quite high. Also, heard many datuks and tan sris are calling into the college for favors. on top of that, there have been unreported incidence of fights and accidents involving hospitalization over the last few years. In this sort of a situation, political interference and all, can there be good education?

Anonymous said...

I’ve been always fond of AIMST no matter how rude the workers are, how nosy the guards are, how sluggish the management is, how disorganized the administration is, how lousy the food is or how annoying the bugs are. Because the main asset of this place is its students.

being here in AIMST really pulls you down. Not physically but spiritually. Having stayed here for 3 weeks, i've said f**k more times than i've ever had in school....

hi, i've visited aimst few days back and they've promised me alot thhings plus i was been told that everythinng in aimst is recognised by the government .. etc n moreover i've tried their food whn they bring the tour for food testing n it was good. and everthings seems to be promising n they told me the loan sys is guaranteed n they do offer somescholarships also. on top of that i was told that they are running best exam system and so on .. al this seems to be cntradicting to most of the comments below.. altho everthing seems to be quite impressive and and nice but thr was one part wic bothers me much whr whn we went into a medical building (it was very beautiful tho )if im not mistaken , we saw a student was having using laptop n whn my dad approached her we've learnt that there wasnt wifi service in that campus at all plus we've chechked out the cc n it looked so out dated n the internet connection was very low n at that point itself i was suspicious abt this place already.. and in the we've learnt that that was the only place u can get connected to the net n no other place u cant get the so called wifi service..image a beautiful looking campus , pretty huge too doesnt have a decent internet connection whr i think it is a very importatnt for a university stud.. n im a perssonm who cant live wtout internet... and aft reading this blog as well as othrs ive decided not to enroll any course in AIMST.. thanks to u guys.. uve just save me...

8. Do any of the pigments change color when heated for a long period of time? Which? Explain the reaction.
All the pigments in the vegetables will change their color when the vegetables are heated for a long period of time.
The color of the vegetables was affected by the heat which modified the pigments’ chemical structure during cooking. Vegetables contain Beta-carotene which is not supposed to be overheated because this pigment contributes to the color of the vegetables and the conversion to Vitamin A. For the heat-induced color, the chlorophyll in the vegetables was changed when the membranes that previously separated acids and pigments are disrupted, allowing acids to come in contact with chloroplasts and hydrogen from the acids replace the magnesium in the chlorophyll, making some vegetable such as spinach and peas change to olive-brown compound known as Pheophytin.

9. Does microwave cookery cause a greater or a lesser color change than stove-top cooking? Why?
Compare to stove top cooking, Microwave cookery cause lesser color change.
Microwave retains vegetables’ texture, color and nutrient content. This method requires very little water and is fast enough to minimize the loss of quality and color.

10. Carotenoids are stable to alkali. However, if carrots are cooked in alkaline water, the cooking water is much more yellow than if the carrots are cooked in plain tap water. Give a possible explanation.

11. Describe the texture of vegetables cooked with baking soda. Why is this so?

12. Describe the color of vegetables cooked with baking soda.

13. Was there any difference between the poached pears prepared in the aluminium and stainless steel saucepans? Explain.
Yes. The poached pears prepared in the aluminium saucepans are brighter green in color compare to those prepared in the stainless steel saucepans. Aluminium helps in conserve the amounts of chlorophyll.

14. Compare the interiors of the stainless steel and aluminium pans after poaching the pears. Explain any differences.
Aluminium pans help in retains the green color of chlorophyll and leaching of color occur to the cooking liquid in aluminium pan.

AIMST is a joke, a seriously un-professional place, where one department won't even communicate with another on simple matters, making us, the people who are paying their salaries run around. I'm seriously pissed off with this uni, and wish i had never joined. They change exam dates 2 days before the exams and expect everyone to change their tickets. Its a joke. And what happened to the 200 million that went missing from AIMST??? i'll tell you what happened to it, our great founder must have pocketed it, after all AIMST is just a cash cow to fund political parties... what they don't seem to understand is that one day all this will come back to bite them in the ass, and when it does, i'm going to be first in line to say 'you screwed us all over, i hope your happy!!!!!'

yes, i completely agree with what anonymous has said

"""OMG..offering world class education? plz la..gimme back my foundation cert..im waiting for nearly 1.5years for this..coz aimst, my ptptn loan is kicked out.."""""

Well all i can say is that u r an asshole!! i managed to get my bro's foundation cert within 2 days!! oh maybe ur results were too good and they wanna keep ur cert, frame it and display it in a museum..thats why u haven't get ur cert i guess!!!

and ppl who are ranting about not being "honored" yet...for an official Graduation Ceremony u need few hundreds of grads..and it costs a lot...so not any sane uni in this world will hold a separate Gradution ceremony for every single batch!!! even in public uni..they have to wait 6 months!!! and this is just a small aimst!!

about flies in cafe...well if u can go 5km radius around aimst..and can u find a single restaurant without flies??? its al because of the pig farm (which is closed now) and its seasonal..wht u expect aimst to do??cover the entire campus with a net??? think logically.. and have u seen any other uni which has its cleaners mopping and sweeping the cafe and building from 8am-5pm everyday!!??? and wht else they should do?? maybe the mummy boys/gals can suggest some genius plan!!!

vinnie87 said that she heard from sum1 about the closed intake system...OBVIOUSLY they will do so..not only aimst ALL pvt uni does so...they have to get their foundation study running and the main attraction is the prioritization for degree intake.. simple logic.. and why the hell suddenly u comparing with merit system n soundness of public uni!!?? hellooo....this is pvt uni..they have to secure their other course!!!! OMG...hw dumb ppl can be!!

regarding the medicine fees, i can SURELY say that aimst is the cheapest in m'sia! as of 2009,the fees stands at rm220k!!!

and regarding food, someone said its all indian food..like duh!!! majority are indian and wht u expect..some ibanese dish?? and for everyone's info.. now they have chinese food, indian food and malay food...as 3 separate sections!!! and to people who are still ranting..go back to ur mama n start suckling back!!!

the medical syllabus is adopted from Bristol university..which is one of the top uni in UK..and there are so many achievements by aimst students..which many ppl dont know..especially those ignorant assholes and dumbF*&ks who know how to see the glass as half empty(just like their brain i guess!!)all the time..

and regarding management..its a known fact...SUCKS!!! but its not only in aimst..it happens eveywhere..every single uni has that problem...

"grass is always greener on the other side of the field"...
there are faults where ever u go..
u cant run or avoid them..so up to u to take up the opportunity and utilize it optimally...

i'm a 3rd year medic student in aimst..and i'm proud of its standard and quality(which we achieved in just below 10 years!! ) as now we are on par with other established top medical unis in m'sia n abroad... i'm proud..i'm proud..

Happen to surf and landed on this block. Great I can also say my thoughts.AIMST is a great university, my son has been there for the past 4 years since foundation. You know what I came back home from the bank after making the first payments for his course to calls from friends and relatives about my choice of the college for his future. My son made me proud with his SPM results. I cant ask for any thing more because he got an A1 for all the subjects he took.He applied for all the usual avenues a student will do.The rest is history. Imagine the joke one guy said the lecturers in AIMST do not know what to teach. One said it belongs to a certain race owner, One even asked me why there is not a chancellor yet. Many more and all what you would have heard or imagined.I was just confused and stuck because money already paid.
What I had?
A bright student.
A potential first professional within my family and close relatives.
I did not have enough money for the other alternatives.
My search for the truth began.
Heard of one of my friend's friends son doing his foundation there. Called him up,spoke to him to get the actual story and later another guy.You know what? why these people said such things about AIMST without anybody they knew studying there amazes me till today.Non could give any practical alternatives or meaningful suggestions, forget about borrowing their monies. You think, so long you have people like them in the community, will the community ever progress.YOU can put 10 MAHATHIRS or 20 SAMYVELUS no use man.
I or my son absolutely have no regrets so far about starting his career path at AIMST.
Medicine is no place for mediocre students. Till today I remind my son of his marks and expectations whenever i call him.Minus the PTPTN loan how much do you pay for the course over the years. Is it not a fair price.I would recommend AIMST to any parent out there. It would not be fair for the students and parents if i were to say AIMST is a better choice than ,,,,,,,.why complain about food and admin staffs when the student there is not only going to eat but importantly fulfill his dream and contribute to the society meaningfully.

I am a junior teaching staff at AIMST.
What bubba said, "the DEAN of medical school is a dictator who likz to hear his own voice and surroun himself with his cronies..he is making sure al good staff leave aimst" on Feb-19, 2009 is totally WRONG. Bubba must have mistaken some other person.
Our Dean runs an open office, any staff or student can walk in with problems, he has helped many so called 'bad students' turn a new leaf and pass out as MBBS grads. He has no cronies walking with him.
In fact, he is one of the reasons for young staff like me to take on a job at AIMST; we know that he would back us.
Verify facts before poisoning others' minds by fiction.

I did A levels and got ABB but wasn't accepted in AIMST because of their close system, so I went there and did their foundation and realized it's so ridiculously easy, the standards are SO MUCH LOWER than SAM, A-levels or any foundation for that matter, plus to get an A- all you need is 73, if you can't get a 73, you shouldnt even be looking to do a science degree not to mention MBBS but yet people who got A-,B,B are in the medical program... the standard of AIMST is really low... I ended up getting straight A+ without even opening my book...

I left AIMST after my foundation and decided to do the medical program in MONASH University instead... not worth wasting RM250,000 on a medical degreee NOT RECOGNIZED BY WHO (but surprisingly recognized by MMC).. MMC standards are really really low....I feel bad for the good students who are stuck in AIMST cause of financial problems..I was one of them but I decided to take out extra loan and invest in a better university...AIMST IS THRASH!!!!

It only looks nice (website and university) top lure students and parents who are impressed by the look of the university. They force the students to wear shirt and tie everyday, just so they look professional, whether they learn anything is questionable...

Another thing about AIMST is that there were many break-in cases, where student break into other students hostel, stealing their laptop and nothing was done!!!

AIMST IS A FUCKING THRASHY UNIVERSITY

If there is anyone out there studying medicine at Aimst , it would be very kind for he/her to give their honest opinion about the place ..... Im currently in a delimma and have always wanted to do medicine...bad mistakes haunting me thoughout the rest of my life is not what i want to experience if i do end up in aimst and regretting to study somewhere else...

Wow....i'm amazed that people can really voice out the truth that happening in AIMST...I worked there from 2003-2007. It was simply superb place when it was located at Semeling ...VC- Dr. Kumar Dass n Registrar - Dr. Rajakrishnan. I am very sure everything was running in order...staff have respect for student and student do respect staff.....EVERTHING CHANGED 360 degrees...after a MORON...UNEDUCATED F**King STUPID came and step in inside AIMST...This guy who claimed himself as professional from a university in USA...came n sat as the Directeor of Admin....without any degree or cert...only wt his experience ...about 15years(according to him-God Knows). that is the moments...everthing was upside down in AIMST....

He took full control of everything in AIMST....can u imagine...even he will decide what type of tissue to provide in the TOILET...!!!

He is a dictator....worst that HILTLER....this Ass Hole make all our life worst....HE was later crowned as the COO of the uni...he married to one of the lecturer and she became the first lady of AIMST over night....!!!

Believe me people...it is not nothing wrong with the campus..Superb campus...BUT BUT BUT the mentality and the people as well as the MANAGEMENT...SUCKS!!!!!. the HIGHER management was controlled by this Stupid guy....He is not customer oriented at all...he don't care for students....!!!

He live his live as a KING of AIMST....I am sure you guys know who am i refering to....!!!

I left that place with really really painfull heart. So many senior staff left that place becoz of this guy...Same goes to lecturers.....MANY GOOD LECTURERS LEFT THAT PLACE..pity them...

I am sure AIMST will be a better place if some other management take over that campus...!!!!! Specialyyyy that guyyyy....FOr GOD SAke...leave that place...ENOUGH OF HAVING FUN HERE...!!!!

hello.. i do noe whom the last post was refering to. and i bet those who were there in tht particular period regardless studs or lectrs or staffs do know who is the MORON! i couldnt agree more.. btw there were some kind "education caste" going in AIMST.. those whom are doing the big 2 courses (med and dentistry)are known as high class couse where as othrs follws.. courses such as business, it, biotech, etc are known as low class education and u can feel this differences over is u were a student. not to mention racial tensions can be seen thr and on top of tht do we need students to be forced to join the XXXyouth club? first of all should a politic influences need to be mixed with education?? i feel havin a political or racial clubs can never bring the unity amg us.. instead of tht why cant thy cm up with social or volunteer clubs??? anyways im a biotech grad.. looking for a suitable job for abt a year and still looking for.. wht does my uni done for me?? i never had my industrial training and on top of tht im not beeing hired because has been a year ive not been employed in a related field.. im so troubled to find a suitable job.. it is my dream to have a deg in biotech but ive realised if u have studied in a better college or university ur future will be promising.. AIMST is focusing noting but health sciences.. thy are making money out of other courses and importance not given to the cheap courses.. such as biotech, mtm etc.. i am truly dissapointed to be an AIMST graduate..

I did not come across any bitching on that field...

Preference to Malaysian Phd holders first.
Lately, there has been a significant rise in the number of foreigners employed in local universities as lecturers and professors who have Phd qualifications from our neighbouring countries.
The ministry of education has granted them permission to work in these local government and private universities.
Preference has been given to the foreigners rather than our own Malaysian brothers and sisters who are also Phd holders either locally or from overseas.
One typical example is a local private University located at Semeling/Bedong, Kedah. Here, it's a laugh as the lecturers and professors are basically from India. The Faculty of Applied Science in this university has employed a dean who is an Indian national who has a Phd from an Indian university which is supposedly, not recognised by our Malaysian government.
Universities like ANNA University, Annamalai University, Bharathidasan University, M.S.University are not recognised by Malaysian government when any of our Malaysian bros and sis who obtained Phd's from universities apply for lecturer post in the government institutions, but it is recognised when it comes to foreigners!! How come??
Somewhere, something has terribly gone wrong in the system when it comes to the question of employing qualified and recognised Phd's in Science in the teaching sector.
My question to the ministry of education is..why practise double standards when it comes to employing Malaysians against foreginers, when Malaysians too possess similar qualifications from similar universities?
Time to think about it and take action. Make it mandatory for the foreigners with unrecognised Phd degrees to pass a Malaysian Qualifying exam or obtain a Phd from a local government university like University Malaya etc, etc. before allowing them to work as lecturers or Deans.

election around the corner and man, can i see soo many in-house, under-cover politics happening here. it never occured to me that politics can be brought into education centres besides in movies. innocents are charged with foul reasons and goodness knows who is behind all these. how low ppl can go cheap and dirty to win? you can see it in aimst. they have no concern for the student's or their stomach! maybe because they have a medical skul, they wish to make everyone ill and charge them for treatments, i wouldn't know. one thing i wish to stress here, plz for heavens sake, dont choose the rotten apple to represent you, although the apple might look nice from outside (looks can be deceiving). the person might be well known and liked amongst the management ppl, or even the 'mie' but what we students want will never be fulfilled because the person will only fulfill what the management wants (to be done by the students)! in short, aimst=dirty politics and lots and lots of dirty money!

This is where people dump their misconceptions and twisted views about an institution. They are anonymous and have no responsibility on their own comments.
This shows people with biased views solely due to the fact that they have failed to get what they desire even when they were given the opportunity. Grow up, this is not the way for u to rant and moan about your personal failures by passing the blame to someone else. It easy to do so, since all you people are is afraid to admit.

Anonymous said...

I graduated from one of the first few AIMST medical batch.

Currently completed housemanship and stil working for government.

I saw the previous complaints above. One thing i must say.. None of you monkeys have the goddamn right to complain. I think whatever you wrote up there. I went through it worse.
Let me remind you, i;m not saying you are wrong either. I understand the frustation and anger when dealing with management.

To those that are still studying.. Screw the goddamn politics and just study. You dont have any qualification or background to run an university then just shut it. You are paid to study by your parents and financier. Just study and pass the exams. Why wanna deal with politics... Rule 1' no matter what you complain it doesnt do any shit. Looking back, if i would just study and dont get involved with the stupid politics.. you'll be a happier person instead...

Secondly, TO THOSE WHO WANNA COME TO AIMST, speak the people whom are currently studying in AIMST and etc and get a better idea whether it suits you or not...

I saw one comment by IMU student.. I;m offended by ur idiotic statement.. Every med school has it good students and bad students.. IMU is a very self directed learning enviroment. if you lack discipline. no one is gonna bother you and just fail and get kicked out. Btw.. IMU grads i met along my way arent exactly great either.. the good ones are really good.. the bad ones.. urmm lets say they are useless. The same applies to Melaka Manipal.

Regardless of any medical school you graduated from.. its up to your own ability when you do your training and speciality.. IN SHORT no medical school in this world can prepare you for the real world... I came across AUST, UK, US, NZ grads.. we are all the same.. none of us knew half of the things when we were doing housemanship. we cooperated and help each other out.

Prior to admission to a med school, regardless where you are.. is WHERE DO YOU WANNA SETTLED DOWN AND PRACTICE...
Medicine is a very protected field. you can't jump from one country to another. If those who feels like going abroad.. then just go abroad and get your med degree tehere. Those who intend to stay back then pursue a local one.. Once you completed a MBBS.. everyone is equal regardless which uni you are from or your background. Is your work performance and how improve yourself along the way and pave your career

so i hope this clear all the nonsense in this blog. AIMST management maybe an ass at times.. but students are suppose to me studying period and pass the goddamn exams. why bother about who is dictator and crap.. if anyone here think they are so great. go check out exam questions for USMLE, PLAB or AUSTMED.. see how you fare on it..

Medical degree is one thing.. you yourself can only make a difference in your life...

So if you wanna study just continue to study.. if you dont like aimst.. just leave..

I would like to know more about AIMST. Thinking of applying to AIMST as an international student. I would like to know from AIMST current medical students about the quality of curriculum, teaching staff and educational facilities such as laboratories, library, computer access available there. How cooperative are the teaching staff in helping out their students. Some comments before suggested that administration is very bad. Is it improved now? How effective is the admission process for international students?

Sincere Truth said: Now I'm in MBBS 2nd year at Aimst. Eduction standard, very good. Only two big problem for every Aimst student. Firstly, there's very little transport from Sg Petani town to Aimst and vice versa. Should not allow illegal taxi to source for student as this is very dangerous for the safety of every student, especially female student. Secondly is the food problem. For so many years only monopolise by one food operator. The canteen is so big. Can't you let out to other food stalls, selling various food like burger, chinese food, porridge, wan tan mee, noodles etc. The person who is in the MIC who awarded the contract to this only operator should have made tons of money kickback already. Do have some mercy on the poor student who even can't buy a bowl of porridge or noodles when they are sick. Don't expect the student to take roti chanai and curry rice like in prison every day. At least should have a Malay stall and Chinese stall. Aimst already 10 years. Do have some common sense. If your spectacle broken or computer spoilt, you've to take an illegal taxi miles out to town to get it repaired. Student only can stay in hostel until 2nd year. By 3rd year you've to move out, unless you've a car to drive to hospital for clinical attachment. The management can't even arrange for some contract van operator for student transport. If you can't even have basic management skill, then cancel all the business and management degree courses because you will never teach a good student if you yourself do not have any basic business management quality.

Note that one Anonymous who post on November 18, 2009 2.11 PM said that he scored 3A+ in Aimst's foundation without opening his book to study is a the real f*cker (sorry for the language, but only applicable to this kind of f*cker). Aimst never has any grading of A+. This is not SPM's grade. Straight away anyone will know that he has never studied at Aimst before. All Aimst's student took five subjects in their exam plus another compulsory English MUET paper. Definitely this f*cker who used his three subjects A-Level result to apply for MBBS,thought he was great but was rejected by Aimst. Now at Aimst, you got to attend a six stations' interview. If you fail in any station's interview, it will be a great disadvantage. There are over 800 foundation student(3 intake per year) vying for just 140 MBBS seat available, after 60 seat was taken up by government JPA sponsored student who scored straight A+ in their SPM. Just blame yourself for not getting a seat and don't thrash Aimst University out of your remorsefulness.

Is it true med students in aimst so relax?

Anonymous said...

Yes, all Aimst student are quite relax b'cos they are provided and spoonfed with everything. All their hostel are in the campus within walking distance. Laundry service and food are all provided. Library and study room, ample spaces, all air conditioned. Campus - 230 acres of greenery, fauna and flora situated just at the food of Gunung Jerai in Kedah. Jooging track, very large. Olympic size swimming pool, olympic size sport track and EPL football field. Fully equipped gymnasium, squash, badminton, basketball indoor stadium. What you want, they got it. That's why their life so relax. Jealous huh?

Anonymous said...

Does that mean their quality in work later poor? They r relax n spoonfed and later work sure manyak susah mereka ini woo. Cause enjoy too much n no study. Study also rely past year ques? N slides only? True or nt? :/

The current military style management has put off Lecturers, who are packing off to other colleges. There is a big crisis looming ahead.

Anonymous said...

In fact the current medical dean's MBBS is not recognised in Malaysia, unless he passes the Malaysian qualifying examination. The management has always been autocratic, now even more so. In order to save money, all the senior Profs are sent off. There will soon be no qualified lecturer to teach "Internal Medicine" - the only Prof is leaving in April. They are managing with tutors. For head count, it seems they have got lecturers from Bangla Desh, but in subjects that are already full.
Almighty only can take care of the students, who have joined there with HOPE.

Anonymous said...

If anyone would like to study and not to enjoy, then AIMST University should be the answer. For the kind of price, you got selected good lecturer from India and US. Lecturer from India are willing to come to AIMST because they will get higher pay than in India and with food and accomodation thrown in as well. These are the feedback from some of the lecturer currently working at AIMST. In fact, some other private universities are trying to fish them out by offering them even higher pay. Unlike other universities, at AIMST you don't have to travel as all the student stay at the hostel in the campus itself. I regret coming to India after my AIMST foundation in science. In India, everything is so inconvenient as compared to AIMST, from food to accomodation, transport and clinical training. At AIMST dental hospital open to public is in the campus itself and even the refurbished Sultan Abdul Halim hospital is in Sungai Petani town centre.

Pity the students who are now cheated by the greedy management. The current VC is a petty businessman who wants to run it like a supermarket (can you believe this: Tesco is said to be his role model for a university!). He is replacing senior professors with cheap lecturers from Bangla Desh. Check out the new recruits in Med School in the past 12 months. It is now becoming BIMST, not AIMST anymore(B for Bangla) :-D

Unknown said...

Is that Aimst recognised by other country university? because i scare if aimst does not recognise by other country then i have the problems for my post-graduated programmes.

AIMST MBBS is recognised for appearing in entrance exams for PG-admissions. You can not get direct entry like IMU or PMC graduates.

The present managers in AU want to please bosses in MCSB.sdn.bhd by saving more; so they have been systematically cutting down on all expenditure, even to the extent of cancelling refreshments given during long meetings for the staff. Many Professors with "high salaries" (RM 15K) are eased out to be replaced with new junior staff from Bangla Desh at 6-7K; already, the word “Asian” in AIMST has been replaced with “Bangla Desh” and AIMST is now called as BIMST by their own staff !
T in AIMST already stands for ‘Tesco’ and not Technology, ever since the VC spoke for about 5 hours in a leadership camp on how Tesco should be the “role-model” for AU.

Whimsical Personnel Management: HR does not mean Human Resource but stands for “Human Rubbish” at AU. Most academic staff members have been denied promotion citing “lack of publications” as the main reason. Many of them quit AU soon after realising that HR treated them as rubbish. Almost all staff members that left AU are paid much higher salary in other colleges; a senior lecturer in IMU or Segi gets more salary than a Professor at AU. The situation is so pathetic that Medicine unit in the medical faculty was 10-strong in 2008 declined to just 2 qualified staff leaving the students at the mercy of others without Masters in Medicine.
One has to pity the students who are short changed in order to earn more profits to please the bosses.

Can anyone tell me about their msc medical physiology programme? It would be nice if any current student there can share their experience there. Is it worth doing masters in AIMST?

Anonymous said...

Medical Physiology is a two-year course - one-year of coursework and 1-year of research. It is difficult to score CGPA of 3 (of 4) to be eligible for PhD.
Worse is the attitude of the senior management to their own MSc: Aimst got permission to run MSc saying we need to create Malaysian lecturers to replace Expats; but did not employ their first MSc (in Medical Microbiology) - she was jobless for a year after finishing the course.
Bottomline: The course is OK but the management sucks!

Anonymous said...

"I dont think u even know how PG in malaysia works. Lol.
October 24, 2013 at 4:10 AM" is absolutely right for Aimst MSc courses.

Anonymous said...

MBBS course is vulnerable too!
There is no dean and the acting dean since February, 2013 has MBBS that is not recognised by Medical council (MMC). Malaysians with that MBBS are made to appear in examinations like MQE but an expat is allowed to be dean of a med programme.
Aimst really sucks Lah! Aimst only care about how much they can save for their bosses in MIED/MIC and keep them happy

Overall, AIMST is a medical university. Pharmacy and Dentistry in AIMST is very competitive and difficult to joint. They only take in 100 student for Pharmacy and 75 student for Dentistry per year. Although they state that if you have CGPA 3.0 to qualify but most of the course, you need to at least achieve CGPA 3.50 to have chance to be selected.

Anonymous said...

You can pursue your postgraduate courses as long as you have a MBBS degree certificate. The MBBS course in AIMST is recognised by World Health Organization (WHO) which i think the quality of education is there

Anonymous said...

AIMST is for sure a better choice if you wish to pursue pharmacy degree...
Please be minded that before you enrolled into pharmacy degree of any universities please check the website of Pharmacy Board Malaysia to see whether the pharmacy degree is recognised by the Pharmacy Board Malaysia...
If the pharmacy degree of a university is not recognised by the Pharmacy Board Malaysia, you will not be registered as a licensed pharmacist and will noy be able to undergo housemanship for 1 year with government....this means that you can't be a pharmacist after you graduated from the pharmacy degree...you can only choose to continue taking up a master degree and become a lecturer teaching pharmacy courses....
So far, the pharmacy degree from SEGi & UCSI & MAHSA are still not recognised by Pharmacy Board Malaysia...
Choose AIMST instead if you want to pursue pharmacy degree :)

To those who are interested with AIMST University please kindly read this, the latest update from AIMST by its own students.

Hosteller students are compulsory to pay for the laundry fee, foods fee, computer lab fee etc although students are not using it.These all unwanted fees cost above RM1000 per year if not mistake. Then the foods provided at AIMST by Jaya Cathering is really disgusting, feeling like vomiting and in a small quantity, cant even fill a stomach of a little girl.Food poisoning is also a normal case for AIMST students, one day on last month around 150 students had food poisoning and rushed to the hospital. After the food poisoning incident, there is no action taken by the authorities(Bcuz Jaya Cathering which managed students'foods are one of a MIC companies).Students who stayed at hospital also cant claim back their hospital fees from AIMST even though students paid insurance fees to AIMST management every year.AIMST also have no ability to provide enough car park for students in campus,so there are quite a number of road accidents happened in the campus.Besides, the tables and chairs in the cafe of AIMST are fulled of flies and bird shits,it is really untidy for students who eat at there. The LAN wire internet
in hostels and WIFI in library and cafe are always unstable, even google search is hard and AIMST sometimes will intentionally blocked some most welcomed websites like Facebook,Youtube,Twitter etc.

Please dun apply for AIMST,otherwise u will regret it soon after u enter it.

Anonymous said...

hello...i am an aimst student and i don't really agree to what you have said above. 1st of all, the laundry fee is not compulsory to pay. 2nd thing, since you have paid for all these fees, i am pretty sure that you are an aimst hosteller. Let me ask you one question, you said you were forced to pay the fees which you are not using it. Are you sure that you don't use it at all? Are you sure that you didn't take any meals from aimst cafeteria? The fees that aimst collect from us can be considered cheap already as we just pay RM500 for hostel (which includes housekeeping once or twice a week), 3 meals a day, electric and water bills and so on. Regarding food poisoning, i can't say that this case never happen before in aimst but you can't simply say that it is a normal case in aimst as the situation is getting better. They are improving the cleanliness and the quality of food served and the food poisoning case doesn't happen anymore so far. Regarding the car park, i don't think there are no enough carpark for the students as i can still see lots of parking place in the morning where students tend to have classes. The LAN wire internet is FAST and STABLE, yes im saying it is fast. Don't try to bluff here that you can't even do google search as i can even use the LAN wire internet to watch movie online. Aimst does not block facebook, twitter and etc. for the wifi. I always surf facebook and twitter in the library when i was doing my homework. People should apply for aimst as the lecturers here are really helpful and they have very high experiences in lecturing students. Coming to aimst will never be your regret. :)

While I agree with what you said, I still think there are still room for improvement which the management take too long to improve. As parent of Aimst's student, you can ask any other parent of Aimst's student, what are the main problem of their children studying at Aimst. They will tell you of the followings;
1) Transportation (there are bus stops inside Aimst's campus but there are no transport buses or van at all). You can't get out to town to do necessary things like repairing your computer, looking for a better doctor when sick, repair spectacles and etc. 2)There are still a lot of empty spaces in the cafeteria which can be partitioned out to let to other operators to sell more varieties of food. Why should Aimst monopolise the food supply whereby you are not specialist in food. Food is one main problem for student who are willing to pay for better foods. After so much complaints, Aimst now only allow one more Kopitiam to operate. Other than the above, Aimst have been improving slowly over the years. One more thing, the recent sudden increase in fees by almost RM30,000 in MBBS, Pharmacy and Dentistry caught many parents by surprise. Now you need pay tuition fees of RM286,000 plus another RM40,000 of hostel and laundry etc. to complete the course. You must let parents know of the budget first rather than last minute increase. Other complaints on this blog, I think not genuine because a lot of student being eliminated after their foundation course. Therefore they keep talking bad about Aimst because they can't proceed to degree courses at Aimst.

My son is currently doing MBBS in Aimst. He is a good scholar with excellent grades in O and A levels.A number of criteria for us to choose Aimst. 1. Value for money (excellent cost benefit ratio) unmatched by any rival U other than public U. 2.Rated 5-stars by MQA, equal standing as the pricy IMU and others. Only UM rated 6 stars.3. Good student facilities. But management issues are the only minor distractions. 4.Recog by MMC, equal standing as other over-priced U. Students should take the initaitives to self-improve upon graduation, like earning the MRCP. 5. The difference in tuition and living costs could be saved for PG studies. 6. Aimst students are doing well in open-medic competitions. proven worthiness compared to other costly Us. Overall, MBBS in Aimst is good value for money. But if your parents have the means, then go to commonwealth medic schools for a little ego and prestige to your spending power, but your earning power may not be any better then any other local grads.

The recent Open Day on 16th & 17th August by Aimst was a complete waist of money. Whilst balloon and music are banging loud, parents of potential student are having a hell of a tough time going through a series of registration from the entrance of Aimst and finally prevented to drive near to the cafeteria area. We have to park our cars 1.0km away and make to walk through the hot sun by those dumb guard who can only communicate in their home country Kazahstan and Tibetan language. We parents thought open day should be a friendly welcoming days where you can park your cars conveniently near to the cafeteria area just for this 2 days but it turned out to be torturing days. I have been circling my cars round and round the whole university but can't find a way to the cafeteria to make an enquiry on the courses and fees available. Finally, I stand under the trees to wait for my relative to park the car at one the furthest parking area, one silly guard spoke in Tibetan language and gesturing me to stand out on the main road under the hot sun because those trees are near to female hostels. Finally I left without able to make any enquiry on the fees because there is no fees structure stated on the website of Aimst. Looks like trying to hide something hanky panky from the public's awareness.

Its quite amusing to go through all the comments posted in this blog. To the many critics, they are just petty matters. For all you know, life is not perfect, esp when you start out in the real working life after finishing studies. I studied in a public U in the 1973 (truly limited opportunity for U study in those days). student life back then was tough, but no point in comparing. Since many of you are still studying, make good use of the college life- it's indeed a privilege to be cherished. Money is a limited resouce, unless your parents are tycoons. So, appreciate whatever little you have got and make the best out of it rather than whinning like a spoilt brat over nothing. Have some econ sense, you need some rm500k in IMU n over rm1m in UK & US, but only rm250k in Aimst to get a medic degree. You only earn RM2-8k salary pm, many will fail to get to seniority of rm8k, as a MO or HO. How long will you have to slog to re-pay the loan or recoup the costs. Wouldn't it be better that you only have to spend a tidy sum in Aimst and free yourself of the huge loan baggage for the rest of your working life. I agree with the posting that said grads from UK, US,Aus,NZ and I may add IMU too, are generally just as good as Aimst, NOT better. Be proud for what you are, AIMSTian, and go on continuously improving your skills and knowledge. By the way that "midddle finger" gesture says alot about that loser.

The MBBS, Dentistry and Pharmacy degree are well recognised in Malaysia. However, any potential new Aimster, please do some homework for the pros and cons studying in Aimst. The fees is no more 250K, that's why it is not advertised in the website anymore. It is now 286K not inclusive of accomodation yet. Do some budget costing first so that you will not be caught shortage of fund in the final 2 years. 3rd year MBBS student is now posted to Kulim Hospital and not Sg.Petani Hospital anymore. Not forgetting the cost of buying a car (plus petrol + car maintenance) b'cos Aimst don't provide transport during your clinical years in Kulim and Alor Star Hospital. Other option of relatively good universities are MAHSA (fees 300K - clinical General Hospital KL), Segi (300K - can pay by instalment), UTAR (255K - clinical Ampang Hospital KL) and QUEST International Perak (260K - clinical Ipoh hospitals. These are some options for consideration only. Of course each have their own pros and cons also.

I would like to stress up something here...Actually, the management didn't allow visitors to park near the cafeteria is because of the students safety. Just for your information, there are a lot of activities held at the clock tower and cafeteria, where there will be lots of students and visitors going there and participate in the event. The management therefore didn't allow cars to pass by was just to ensure the safety of everyone and to avoid accident from happening. Besides, the guards in AIMST can speak english well and they always communicate with us(students) in english only. So i think maybe there was a misunderstanding for your situation. We do have fees structure for all courses which had been given to all the visitors interested in courses offered in AIMST.

In the 2013 discipline based D-Setara rating by MQA, only 15 medical institutions were rated with UM rated Tier 5. AIMST U was rated Tier 4 together with 11 other institutions, including the more costly IMU. While UCSI and USIM were only rated Tier 3. It is clear that AIMST U is at par with all the others, except UM; thus, value for money.

Some of the pricy schools (often wrongly perceived as better or prestigious) offer far less impressive clinical trainings than AIMST U does.

Seriously, can there be wholesome clinical trainings for students in small district hospitals that only have a small group of specialists with relatively low patient loads- such as in Kluang and Batu Pahat? Your guess is as good as mine.

Assertions of graduates from certain institutions are better than others must be supported by valid studies instead of basing on casual comments and hearsay.

Recommendations in preference for pricy schools are done mindlessly without giving due considerations to costs-benefits factor.

Ironically, to be a GP is no longer financially rewarding nowadays, yet costs-factor has been ignored conveniently or ignorantly.

Generally, on the basis of tuition fees alone, private medical schools in Malaysia can be grouped into three bands: below rm400k, below rm800k and rm1m or above.

Then based on factors as fees, facilities and graduates quality, AIMST U certainly stands out among the others in the same band.

Now, let us look at the potential stream of returns of a HO/MO, which is between rm2.5 to 8k per month. With such a modest stream of returns, it would be unwise to fork out any amount more than necessary to be a doctor, because the earning power is basically similar for all HO/MO and GPs. In business, this is called the CBR (cost-benefit ratio), a prime element among other indicators for investing.

In these lights, I suggest students to be more discerning and pragmatic in choosing a medical school.

Lastly, I hope that there should be a common entrance exam, which should also include medical aptitude tests for all Malaysian students aspiring to do medicine locally or abroad. Also, all graduates must pass the professional MQE to be admitted in the profession irrespective of their academic medical qualifications.

I think it's time that AIMST should start a Transport Department. This Transport Department can be tendered to outside companies to provide the transport for student, lecturers, university's employees etc. There's a big parking lot land in front of the sports complex and there is also a bus stop there. The management of AIMST should make full use of the available space to provide this important transport facilities for the growing large population of student especially medical, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing student who are visiting the hospitals daily. All students don't mind paying for transport charges but this important facility necessary for their daily transportation which are not available for the large population of student, lecturers and employees of AIMST. Instead, every one have to car pool and arrange their own transportation. The minute that new students checked into the university's hostel, they are alike living in jail as they could not get off from the campus. Outstation student and foreign student are even worst, they have to wait for semester break before they see the outside world. AIMST already almost 20 years in operation but the management of AIMST must be scolded properly before they can wake up.

Hey samlau plz admit it if AIMST is worst in managing their own facilities, students do paying a high amount of fees to them on time, but how they treat us? Providing lousy facilities to students, ruined water machine, unaccessible internet. They even lie to students about the student get student scheme last year, all of my friends and i didnt get any inform after submitting the application forms even though our relatives and family members are studying here.We had did a survey by asking via fb,no even 1 student got the RM200 after submitting the form. Do u admit this huh?! This is the reality, but samlau you keeps hiding this truth from people. Obviously .u most probably is using a fake name to lie that AIMST is good,u r one of the admin staffs. AIMST management staffs are really big liars, believe me, God is watching us 24hours all the time,u people will be getting karma soon. All students from AIMST do hope the arrival of that day. May God punishes u all!

Don't AIMST promise that only 200 students per year? Now u want us to share the clinical stuffs with them? Oh seem like we didnt pay u people fees, how AIMST admin staffs could be such greedy? This moment we only believe 1 thing, that is KARMA. Its totally useless if u everyday sembahyang but ur heart is still black. See what will happen to u people in next life.

wow, take it easy fellow. i am not an admin staff of aimst. fee increase is fair, as long as it's within a reasonable limit, say 5%p.a.? any private u is a profit making entity to be sustainable, else it will be like aucms or perdana u, then u all wl end up a bigger loser. surely your father didnt run a business purely for charity- that should come after profit is made, pls wake up.

oh yeah, KARMA, quite scary. if u are a believer than why are you studying med? you may interfere with someone's karma (altering ones fate to suffer sickness)and unknowingly you have to receive/inherit that fellow's karma. besides, accidents do happen in med. then what, are you not a 'killer', what karma awaits you, my dear fellow. do i scare you. just stick to your resolve to study hard not to disappoint your parents, for they are paying through their noses to see you through u. the other private unis are real blood suckers too!

aucms dropouts are unfortunate, my emphaty, but an opportunity for aims, ukm and cucms to hedge their profits. get yourself a lawyer to take up the case with aimst, mohe and mmc. else, save your breath and study hard. my sincere and best wishes to you. no bad intend.

Fuckers who don't know the real situation in AIMST, don't talk Cock. First year student not given any offer letter. By the time offer letter given on registration day, everyone got a shock! Fees increase by RM25K, take it or leave it. Hostel fees also increase, take it or stay outside in the padi field. Food supply shrinked, worst than prisoners' food. Everytime Samy and his MIC supporter came to AIMST during bright daylight. Why don't you all come at night. I am sure you will all drive into the Merbok river with narrow bridge and no street light in the whole area of Semeling and Bedong. The new Kedah MB YB Mukh.... also don't care about the people there. Only care about building another international airport in Kulim next to Penang International Airport. If you are in Selangor, surely voted out early, early already! How come MMC stipulate lecturer student ratio must be 5:1 but now become 20:1 plus somemore additional bankrupts and beggars from AUCMS. Why medical profession not control by professional body but here controlled by greedy politician.

Yes dude u're right, fuckers like samlau plz dont talk bullshit.Come and see the SAD staffs,Mr Chandran,Ms Angelina,Mr Pobalan etc,how bad is their working attitude.Lazy, bad temper, bullshit faces will be shown to u if u're there. My 1st year mbbs and bds juniors havent get their lab coats, tshirts, bags yet until now. No wonder u people r still working a normal job,its really difficult for these kinds of people to success in their lives. Lying is really the common habit of AIMST staffs(except lecturers). Useless rubbish. Seriously u people deserve to be cursed by all the students.

We,the AIMST MBBS students are very angry and dissappointed that AIMST give the chance to those unqualified standard students from AUCMS studying together with us..Sincerely we really not welcomed u AUCMS people, plz fuck off from our place. Some of the mbbs lecturers including the BIG BOSS of mbbs unit ask us to feel pity towards these bullshits from AUCMS, oh yeah bcos of extra salaries will be given thats why u people can accept this. But did u ever ask the opinions and listen to the voices from AIMST MBBS students???? NEVER. SELFISH & GREEDY MADAFAKA. Don't u feel ashamed when u often mention that students'voices are important for us??? Btw what's going on in this incident ??? acting like bastards all the time, seriously we want to spit on ur face!

i am also one of the anti AUCMS MBBS students,it is freaking disgusting when seeing some1 says love or pity or salute to those who help. owh please don't fake pretending like a saint, u r one of the main causes who let these beggars studying in AIMST. AUCMS MBBS course not even qualified by JPA and MQA of malaysia, how come they can sit as equal together with us at the same table??? Feel pity towards them, then how bout our parents??? Paying the increased fees to let their children studying for 200 seats mbbs, and suddenly turn out 270 seats. And now u want us to applause to welcome their presence? U the head of MBBS didnt even discuss with the all mbbs students, and now forcing us to welcome them. Is it impossible that we will feel very happy and excited like stupid idoits I tell u. Nah homeless AUCMS hoes keep ur fucking ass off from AIMST. u all should ask the help of najib, not us. ALL LOCAL MBBS STUDENTS WILL NOT WELCOME AUCMS STUDENTS,just get out from here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmm...lots of bad blood in aimst. but why u students have such bad mouth. my advise is control your temper or emotion. your writing reflects first on you, then your parents and your schooling including aimst. my son is a grad of aimst. he was not happy with aimst, has never bad mouth any of them, but finished his study and moved on in life. my uni days too was not all rosy, but that too came to past and i moved on since then. hallo students, be happy. as i have said, students can get together to hire a lawyer to take on the institutions for justice. why grant and whine, venting air brings no positive outcome but disgrace to oneself. take an effective step, if you all felt so strongly about the matter. how about hold union-admin dialogues/sessions to resolve management issues. enjoy your stay in the aimst prison. i can have some sunshine in the morning. good day to all students

Only those doggy cronies who get benefits from the aimst will talk the same thing like samlau.I saw some comments said that AIMST got the fastest superb internet, tasty foods, students are not forced to pay laundry fees, computer lab fees blah blah blah all unwanted fees...OH REALLY??? Go and ask the students on AIMST University Facebook group and see how they will react. The food poisoning case is a very good example that most of the students are really not satisfy to the worst and dumb management of AIMST admin staffs&SAD staffs.Look at the stupid student council of AIMST,how many yrs the different presidents had promised to the students that they will improve the welfare of students but now anything is improved by them?? No even one, food sucks and a little quantity as usual,SAD staffs and clinic staffs(the indian lady) lazy&no manners&useless as usual, internet speed 1bytes per second as usual, many library lights cant function as usual etc. So Student Council of AIMST has proven to us that they are just want to get some powers and seek for more attentions only, nothing is done by them, they are just a tool made used by AIMST admin staffs to pretend in front of the outsiders that AIMST is giving students chance to voice out. Unfortunately all the lies cannot be covered by these useless hoes. In conclusion, talking cock and Bullshitting is one of the main jobs of these doggies. World class university??? Bitch Please, only the lecturers and students are world class standard, while the management is one of the dumbest in Malaysia. Lying to others is almost equal as masturbating, giving urself pleasure,so siok.

2)if we are incompetent compared to you guys, we will not be able to complete your 6 months course in a month's time.
Don't believe check out our results in the end.

4)lastly if you do have a problem in our intake please confront the management of aimst for agreeing on our intake instead of directing your hatred towards us...

I'm a MBBS graduate from AIMST. Your shit talk affects all our efforts in having AIMST address associated with our names for life as it's where we got our degrees from.

Batch 20, you people are calling these guys unqualified and all. How many of you can comprehend English? Look at you fuckers, can't even speak properly. You people will come to clinical year, cannot take history from patients, cannot communicate with patients, clinical skills all disgusting, simple things cannot understand... Worst of all, memorize memorize memorize. You all grew up memorizing. You all want to be surprised right? You see whether your 1st year 2nd year dean's list student can take blood without looking like one awkward shit head doing the job. Do the same questions over and over again until you can do them right? No need to understand no need to think. Very typical with a certain group of people. I'm not being racist, this is reality

Your attitudes are horrendous. Half of you are here doing medicine because mommy daddy all bigshots, thinking oh my smart daughter or son studied medicine... Wah so rich. You fuckers won't even amount to anything. I am waiting to see what happens to batch 20. 2019 right, you all wont have jobs

AUCMS students, my advice, you all just focus on your studies. I'm very sorry what happened to you all lah, but I mean life takes it out on us right? Dont be deterred. You study hard and do well. I know many of you are more qualified than some of the morons who are in AIMST claiming they are more qualified than u just becoz they got place in AIMST. I interview the batch 20 students means, these fellas wont even get place to study in aimst. All commenting want to become good doctors. Their attitude is so fucked up. I cannot except it.

I welcome AUCMS students. Good luck and do well. We had Andalas students come and join us last time when their uni experienced earthquake. They became our close friends when they join batch 14 and 15. Why batch 20 being assholes? This batch got do anything for AIMST is it? Batch 14 batch 15 since 1st year holding huge bigtime events and so united. How come we dont know who you people in batch 20 are? Because your attitude is disgusting. Graduate as doctors, not kiasu bastards who don't know how to appreciate what is given to them. You all studying here no future no goals just come here memorize and do well in exam. Wasting other people's opportunity to get a medical degree at AIMST.

Thank you.

What has english got to do with being doctor?senior are you high on ganja ? If your english is freaking good be a english teacher instead ya ...who are you (S.O.B ) to call people fuckers?at the first place are you sure you made the right choice to be a doctor?

Unknown said...

To Anon, Dec 12
English has got everything to do with being a good doctor.

Firstly, if your English is weak, most likely your medical knowledge has been compromised due to poor comprehension of med literatures.

The other reason is bad writing due to poor command of English reflects poorly on one’s intellectual capacity. After all, having gone through at least 12 years of schooling, one should be able to ‘master’ English.

The third reason is more crucial, as people do make judgement on you, simply based on your written and spoken language. English is the modern universal language of science and technology, legal and literacy, as well as business and commerce. You are judged by basic assessments- like the ability to differentiate a friend from foe at a glance.

Similarly, you might be unjustly judged as bad students or bad doctor for poor command of English. That is how our brain works automatically most of the time (system 1 brain function), until and unless the matter requires serious thinking that would invoke excess computation (system 2 brain function).

Likewise, we also pass judgement based on: (a) sets and stereotypes, e.g. Russian grads are sub-standard. (b) intensity matching, e.g. matching an impressive library to hard working students. And (c) mental shotgun, e.g. statement that A Univ. is better than B Univ. simply based on name without going through the substance.

Our brain is over simplifying matters. That is how judgements happen and how we arrive at many intuitive judgements about many things we know little about.

By all means improve your English for your own good and for the sake of others, else people may intuitively judge the standard of English in Aimst Univ. is like yours!

Unknown said...

the reply above is specifically for Anon Dec 4, not Dec 12. sorry guys.

Anonymous said...

We did our electives in other uni. They are surprised we can speak good english.

I hope all the people who cannot speak english can begin to learn it as a language. it's disgusting to watch you at bedside teaching trying to explain cock shit to our lecturers. sometimes we want to slap your faces and ask you go home so that we can present and teach our friends. damn pissing off want to listen to you talk shit in front of lecturers. basic comprehension down the drain. kena scold then say "oh this oh that". then memorise it. change the case a little bit everything fail. i think u all know which bunch of people i'm talking about. i find that you people are the reason why aimst students are getting bad impression. you all inhibit us from learning. while everyone else improves, these chronic memorizers are the ones who hold everyone back. everything paper and grades... common sense lacking beyond comprehension. dont know anything about world news and history and quotes from books and movies. all memorise shit in medical books. you are the reason aimst sucks. they must increase the standard of language comprehension for admission in aimst.

Unknown said...

to Anon, Dec 9

What can I say, some people may think they can speak English well, but are in fact babbling or yapping, often loss of appropriate words for expression and resorting to foul language and other tongues.

The other point raised is some students memorize information without understanding (rote learning?) to excel in exams. I will try to briefly explore this issue.

Rote learning is the memorization of information in a repetitive manner. To me this is useful, still relevant as a functional foundation to higher levels of learning and has a bigger role than many of us would like to acknowledge, no matter how disdain that may sound to some.

I put to you some of the learning theories that help to plan and assess medical curriculum in training students for healthcare profession. Knowledge is the foundation of Bloom’s taxonomy and Miller’s pyramid (learning models), which is acquired through remembering (MEMORIZING, how scornful) and then understanding, through developing competence-performance (applying and analizing) to evaluation-creation (synthesis, evaluation and action).

This process is done under structured learning environment, but in real life it is more challenging where relevance of information is less obvious. Thus, more complex conditions are applied, such as the Johari Window (by Joseph Luft & Ingham) and ‘competency based medical education/teaching’ (CBME), which involves interaction among individuals of different range of knowledge. It then follows that the more diverse is the individuals within a learning group the more learning will happen.

Therefore, it is perfectly healthy to have a diverse of students with range of learning styles and knowledge levels in Aimst.

Of course, there are other theories to andragogy (adult learning) that differ and similar to pedagogy (children learning- much to do with memorizing alphabets, multiplication table, etc.). The point is, memorizing is the fundamental of learning, when followed up by understanding and applying through experiential learning during the clinical years that will help to trained a good doctor.

Learning medicine needs in part of learning the language of medicine, which is richer in vocabulary than everyday use that must be acquired by memorizing and understanding of binding knowledge, skills together with weighted judgements to intervene, cure or mitigate a sickness.

Please point out my mistakes and put forth your ideas if contrary to mine without using foul language.

ok fellows, lets settle the score. batch 20 students buy themselves each a seat in aimst, then the late comers/buyers fillep up the remainder seats. all are fee paying students, all have got equal rights, nothing more nothing less to grad with the MBBS degree. unless the batch 20 pay extra, like cover charge for a table in restaurent, perhaps then they can claim exclusive rights. else enjoy your share of bargain and let others (late comers) get their rights too. still not happy, go bang your head with the aimst admin or relavent govt institutions to show your true colour.

to all disappointed souls,

1. AUCMS
it is not AIMST that is greedy for money and taking them in, it is, they HAVE to take them in as the instruction are from the Govt, unless you current students don't mind loosing MQA n MMC recognition. (is the indirect explanation clear enough?)

of course there have been strict procedure imposed before allowing the students to continue with AIMST.

do not blame AUCMS students as they are the victims of fraud

2. student council
who selects student rep? it is you guys who vote for them, it is your selection. so, what ever that happens aftermath is solely based on your wrong move in selecting people who are interested in politics and not those who intend to serve fellow mates. you make the wrong move, you pay the price.

if you think they suck, why not you compete n win the place and do for your friends? still not satisfied? lodge a complain to dissolve the council or go in a group to meet the registrar or VC.

some people need harsh handling to make them do their work and such cases should be notified to the top management. you pave the path for the betterment of your fellow mates. when you yourself fear to meet the person in charge to complain because you are scared that you will be marked, how can you suggest the student council reps to be harsh on the management??? sometimes things have to move slowly. remember that you are all students and not the people with power to make changes over night. so take things slowly, brainstorm well before meeting the higher management. sometimes they are unaware of the situation.

3. no changes?
please look around and see how many staffs have been sacked, have been told to leave, have been shuffled within departments. isn't that a change?? things are moving folks, you just gotta give a little more time. each time a shuffle is done, the management has to give time to the staffs to change their attitude before taking drastic action.

you must know that the staffs are also parents to children like you and they have mouth to feed. the management cant simply chuck people without mercy.

4. AIMST greedy for money?
if so, why din't you go to IMU Monash, Taylor's, Sunway , Inti etc???

coz AIMST was the cheapest among the rest right? then where do you see them making "greedy" money???
they are willing to offer the same MBBS Dental Pharm and all other courses that you find, at a much cheaper rate compared to the rest, so how can u make false accusation??? think about it folks .... easy to talk without thinking....

For so many years already, Aimst still cheat on the poor student by collecting not only the hostel fee but also the cost of the 'suck's food which at least 50% of student not eating. Furthermore this 'suck's food, although to some like "Sam Lau" is cheap, these huge sum of money are collected in advance early before every semester start and being siphoned out to its cronies at the expense of the poor student. No other university in Malaysia package the food cost and the hostel fee together. Student should be allowed to buy food from the canteen and not being forced to pay for 'suck's food that they don't consume. Corrupted Management!

Anonymous said...

Yeah true...but u see in aimst the dean n student council has no power in doing anything against the management...

Anonymous said...

hey people,

why bring politics into vastity issue??

keep MIC matters away from here. AIMST stand by itself although it comes under the banner of MIC...

think of the days whr your brothers n sisters were not given the opportunity to study for medicine dentistry n pharmacy by the gov despite the excellent results they possessed... if AIMST was not erected back then, you would not be seeing your fellow family members becoming doctors and dentist and pharmacist today...

y keep mocking an institution that was built to benefit a community?

indians dont have dong song to finance their community, thus AIMST was the piece donated by the people for the people... but sadly u see dong song community using it upto 60% and our very own indians are non stop complaining....

kick the dong songs out if they have too much to complain !!!

and to the MIC haters, do not inter wind politics into education... what have you done on your part for the indian society for you to complain so much???

have you financed any indian students so far?? have you gone and faught for a JPA scholarship? have you gathered financial assistants to help the poor n the needy students with excellent results???

nothing you did but shaking your DICK so much !!!!

its high time aimst introduce two tier fees. retain the current fees for the poors coming from the indian community and the others- charge a premium, yes pile it up to their noses like imu, taylor, pmc, and the like. the low fee group gets the current prison foods while the others a free choice of their own in a classy restaurant-like setting. milk them and milk them dry till they cry blood and make their parents weep like a pauper. i love it, aimst.

Anonymous said...

to that anon, thank you for highlighting the view of sam lau on the low fees of aimst. i agree and support sam. we (56 mbbs students) all love aimst, a value for money medic u. thank you aimst for a wonderful university.

Anonymous said...

aimst should or must increase its revenues from tuition. bring the fees to the par with imu, taylor, monash etc. then offer generous scholarship or partial bursary to needy deserving students. in this way, a healthy cash flow could support the hiring of top faculty members. allow students to choose either low-cost meals or premium foods. aimst still is the best.

Potential future medical student. Just make a comparison of tuition fees and student population per batch. Please note that higher population of medical student will not serve good as all facilities including hospital clinical facilities will be shared among the higher no. of student; AIMST-RM386K-283 student; CUCMS-RM250K-80 student; MSU-RM265K-96 student; MAHSA-RM300K-185 student; UTAR-RM255K-35 student; Quest Univ.Perak-RM260-145 student; UniKL-RCMP RM277K-59 student. By looking at current statistic, don't be mistaken that AIMST is cheap. If you compare quality, then hard to say but if one said that it is cheap, no way. Do not forget about the regular long distance transport cost for outstation student and also the long distance travelling to hospital during clinical years. And lastly the ghost town across the bridge deep inside padi field in total darkness without street light.Conclusion-AIMST is a money sucker for its cronies but just in the name of helping the poor Indian community.

Anonymous said...

all the other univ are also money suckers. yes, those low tier univ are only good at vacuuming your pockets. that's why 20% of such students are under or unqualified to pursue a med program. heard of aucms and perdana? for those prospecting students choose wisely, aimst is my bet, a sure thing, value for money. well done aimst!

hei guys, i found this complaint about mmmu. so why end up like him?
read the extract here or visit the site: complaintsboard.com/complaints/

read the extract:
"Now, I realise that I will be stuck with this university label on my resume for life. What a disgrace.
And the college actually has the balls to ask me to recommend them to others..

In short, this college is a fraud. They are NOT international, and are worse than school in my opinion. Do not waste your money on Melaka Manipal Medical College, as they are happy to take your money and not deliver your expectations. Not even a guaranteed job, or an effort to help you out. They will be smiling when you finally accept that you wasted 5 years of your youth leading a miserable life, and ending up in significant debt...
It's the selfiest, greediest, most unethical, immature and corrupted institution I have ever been to."

i am happy aimst is not like that. my applause to aimst.

Anonymous said...

To that old Sam Lau person, if you are not studying at Aimst, don't simply say that the number of MBBS student is 56. The current intake now is 285 student and clinical student have to pay additional monthly transport fees of RM100 per month to travel to Kulim Hospital for clinical training. This is due to the greedy AIMST that flooded the whole nearby Sultan Abd Halim Hospital with MBBS student.

Anonymous said...

ha, ha. yet another trash aiming to be a doctor spin. go sell insurance instead. in other unis students have to travel to far flung hospitals in kuching, sandakan, k trengganu, kluang, seremban, batu pahat in their clinical years. go see for yourself the shophouse clinical school in kluang. those students even paid more than you do.

The anonymous Sam Lau now try to joint MIC. If Palanivel step down, Subramaniam will take over. That's no place for you in MIC, Sam Wa lau eh. Only the middle finger down there poke you right. This blog is not for you. You should joint Pagalavan's blog. This blog is for members of middle finger. WTF Sam Lau, get lost!

Anonymous said...

kha, kha, only for middle finger pointers. some kind of socially sick and pervert people as members. ho, ho ho...so, soon we will have middle finger stuck-out doctors. can't wait to see that happen.

tell your parents stop patronising aimst and save the money for drugs to control your temper and psychosis. many more deserving students are waiting for a chance to join aimst as genuine students. best of luck mid-pinger buddy!

Anonymous said...

get lost yourself. this is fun to see some rotten brats throwing tantrum. I Love MIC and Aimst, bravo!

Ha ha.. Sam Lau post as anonymous now. The name post as chinese old man but in actual fact, support MIC.

Anonymous said...

Ha..ha..Sam Lau now post as anonymous already. Name himself as a chinese old man..Ah Lau.. but in actual fact is an MIC supporter also. Unlucky for him, there is no MIC University for him to study. MCA's UTAR open its door to all races. AIMST also open its door to all races but typical MIC mentality like Sam Lau want it exclusive to one race only, just like UiTM did. But little did he know that if AIMST open to one race only, the meager fee collected will bankrupt the university long time ago. Old man with small brain.

Can anyone advise me on the electrical and electronic engineering course at Aimst? Are the lecturers there good? What about the engineering lab and facilities? Are they up to date?

Anonymous said...

who cares, aimst sucks or not. its the people who dont like it but still remain in it are the real suckers. pity those real sucker fellows, pay so much money only to suffer. hahaha. i miss uni mca alledy, mbbs cum sinseh = dr lojak, bess lecipe ma. tly kui tui with penang lojak sos la suckers.

Anonymous said...

mic is good unlike that Mangy Corrupt Associates, thank you Rajesh for helping aimst.

Anonymous said...

Why does MBBS has so much dramas between batches... Like seriously? Reading all your comments is like watching Hong Kong or Taiwan drama. Which has endless episodes. LOL peace! Annom out

Anonymous said...

then your choice to study in aimst is because you are under-qualified and enter with only an spm cert. where else can you study mbbs with spm only, moron? that's why now, we come across so many morons here. aimst should admit at least70% stpm n a-level students. let the remainders come in from back door with such nonsense spm/foundation/asasi/etc.

get your father to be the VC, for your own Uni of Mid-Finger Suckers, if you opine aimst vc is unqualified. I am happy with Rajesh n aimst VC. aimst is my 1st choice for mbbs, no regret whatsoever other than those spm pests.

Anonymous said...

you got it spot on! spm pests made up most of the seats in mbbs. tht's a real shame. no wonder the students nowadays are so hopelessly immature!

I too support rajesh, the management, VC and Aimst. well done Aimst, make those useless pests eat dust till they vomit and lick their own vomit. let them run back to their fathers for more kuiteow with rojak paste.

BS Engineering in Electrical & Electronic of Aimst is accredited by IEM Institute of Engineers Malaysia. that means afeter graduation one can apply to IEM to register as Graduate Engineers. After years of experience (10yrs) then one can apply for Professional Engineer. if you aspire to be an engineer you should visit IEM as well as read the Engineers Act Malaysia. likewise other licensed professionals are governed under their respective Act, e.g. Medical Act, Architects Act, Veterinary Surgeons Act, Accountants Act. etc

Since the BS eng degree in aimst is recog by IEM, chances are you will be ok to study there.

Anonymous said...

Rightly true to the core my fren!!

Anonymous said...

True or not...the aimst VC is underqualified with indian BSc zoology?? ..and..the med school dean with unrecognised mbbs qualifications from capitation fee private med college frm india?? Godd!! I sure wil not recommend this university to others!! Better think twice bfore wasting our hard earned cash by enrolling in this university with such underqualified people running it!!!

Anonymous said...

Please...donttt enrol in aimst!!! U r making a big mistake!! U wil regret it later!! No aimst engg graduates got jobs!! All considered third class engineers same as mbbs graduates frm aimst!!
aimst sucks!!

Anonymous said...

i urge all prospecting students to think rationally and not be swayed by those negative and evil minded people. For whatever course you want to enrol in, first of all, check out the program that it is recognised by the regulating professional body like IEM, MMC etc. so long as the course is recognised then you can rest in peace to study and qualified as a professional.

aimst is an edu institution in good standing worthy of its status and at par, if not better than, the other local institutions. Use MQA D-setara rating as a guide. I would recommend Aimst to all prospecting students. But then again you should weigh it against other circumstances including your personal preferences and financial standing.

don't be distracted and discouraged by a tiny group of immature and 'bad' students who have failed to adjust to the new learning environment and are therefore behaving like social outcasts.

those false accusations by some miss-aligned students on the academic credentials of staff and faculty members showed how narrow minded and shallow there are and will cont to be so when they are out in the working world. those people will not go far in life and will end up to nothing in the society.

Anonymous said...

All MBBS graduates from AIMST are employed in hospitals within 4 months after graduation and are doing well.

Please check your facts before informing others. Sounds like lots of sour grapes in this blog by those who failed in their study at AIMST and got kicked out without a degree or even a foundation cert. Readers be aware!
